New Year Boat Tours on Lake Ohrid
Winter dates are open around New Year: 29 December, 30 December, 31 December, 1 January, 2 January, 3 January and 4 January.
A New Year boat tour on Lake Ohrid is one of the quietest ways to see the old town. The summer crowds are gone, the fortress and Kaneo sit above still water, and the light stays low through the middle of the day. We have five dates open around the holiday.
Which New Year dates are open
These departure days are open now:
- 29 December
- 30 December
- 31 December
- 1 January
- 2 January
- 3 January
- 4 January
That is a five-day window, not the whole winter. After 3 January the notice on the site comes down. A date can still fill, so the booking page is the place to confirm a boat is free before you travel.
What a winter sailing is like
Boats leave from in front of Hotel Tino, the same point as the rest of the year. Bring a warm layer. The old-town shoreline is the easy choice if you only have an hour: the Ohrid Old City tour runs about 30 minutes past Samuel’s Fortress, St. Sophia and the church at Kaneo. If you want the south shore, the St. Naum boat guide and the Bay of Bones cruise are the longer trips, and the St. Naum day is the full day out to the monastery.
How to reserve one of these dates
Open the booking page, choose one of the five days, then the tour. You enter your name and party size on the last step. Read how booking works if you want the short version before you start. If you are deciding between a short city loop and a full day, read the tour page first – duration and what is included are listed there.
